Stephen King
Stephen King is a best selling American author he was born on September 21, 1947 and he specialises in horror, science fiction and fantasy .In his life he has sold more that 350 million books including almost 200 short stories many of which have been turned into movies. He went to school at Durham Elementary School and graduated from Lisbon Falls high School in Lisbon Falls Maine. In 1970 he graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
King has received numerous awards throughout his life he has received the Nebula Award, the British Fantasy society Award the Bram Stoker Awards, and the World Fantasy Awards. Other awards are the Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America in 2007, the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters awarded by the National Book Foundation and amongst others the Canadian Booksellers Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
King began writing while in school for a newspaper he and his brother published called Dave’s Rag. The first of story he published was” I was a Teenage Grave Robber”. In 1973 he wrote his first novel called Carrie which was published by Doubleday, he then wrote and published a book by the title Salem’s Lot which he published in 1975 .In 1977 he published The Shining followed by The Stand in 1978 in the late 1970’s his began his Dark Tower series the first of which was called The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger. The second instalment of Gunslinger called The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three (1987) followed by The Waste Lands (1991), Wizard and Glass (1987), Wolves of the Calla (2003), Song of Susannah (2004) , and The Wind Through the Keyhole (2012).His novel Firestarter was released in 1980 and it initially sold 100000 copies , his novel Christine published in 1983 sold over 250,000. Stephen Kings highest selling book IT released in 1986 has sold over 1,000,000 copies .These are just a few of the titles he has produced which also include comic books.

Salem’s Lot is a novel published by Stephen King in 1975 and is a horror novel. It is a story about a writer called Ben Mears who returns back to his home town a small community called Jerusalem’s Lot in Maine where he grew up as a boy. It appears the inhabitants of the town are slowly turning into vampires. Just like King’s other horrors this book is truly scary.
The Shinning is another book by Stephen King that involves a struggling writer as the main character .His name is Jack Torrance and he is a struggling alcoholic who often times physical abuses members of his own family. After getting sacked from his job at a school called Vermont prep he accepts a job as a caretaker at a hotel called Overlook. The Overlook is an isolated resort in the Colorado Rockies which is also haunted by the ghosts of the people who have been murdered in it. The main character Torrance has a wife called Wendy and a five year old son called Danny who happens to be telepathic. The Overlook which is seething with supernatural activity is unable to posses Danny but ends up possessing his father and what follows is a very riveting blood curdling and scary story.
This is a novel takes place in a town called Castle Rock, Maine. The story is about two families the Chamber and Trenton Families and about a big sized St Bernard dog called Cujo .One day while chasing a rabbit in the backyard of its owner the chambers family it sticks its head into a hole and it is bitten by a bat infected with rabies. The virus turns the innocent dog into a ravenous killer that immediately goes about a killing spree. What follows is a riveting horror in true Stephen King fashion.
IT is a horror novel published by King in 1986 the stories tell about the adventures of seven children as they are stalked and terrorized by an evil being that is a shape shifter able to take up different forms. The creature does this by utilizing the worst phobias and fears of the children and normally takes the shape of a clown in order to entrap them. The story has two time lines one is from 1957 to 1958 when the characters are still children and another one 1984 to 1985 when the children are now adults. When they are children after many harrowing experiences they manage to temporarily defeat IT they make a pact amongst themselves that if the creature ever comes back that they would unite again and fight it .In the second part of the novel, the time line when the children are adults IT strikes again and the children now adults remembering their promise to each other return and finally manage to destroy IT.
